Chapter 10: The Old Friend

Nathan got a call he never expected—from Elena Voss, Victoria’s first husband’s sister. She had seen the news and wanted to talk.
"She’s done this before," Elena said when they met. "She accuses everyone else of what she’s guilty of. She made my brother look like a monster, then took everything he had. If you don’t find proof fast, she’ll do the same to you."
She handed over a small USB drive. "My brother kept copies of everything—her emails, bank transfers, even voice recordings of her threatening him. He hid it before he died in that ‘accident’ five years ago."
Nathan plugged it in. The first file played: Victoria’s voice, cold and sharp: If you don’t sign over the house, I’ll tell everyone you hurt Lila. And no one will believe a man like you.
The second file showed transfers from her first husband’s business account to the same shell companies she was still using today.
Elena leaned forward. "She didn’t just want money. She wanted power. And she never lets go of what she takes."
