No longer was I "the quiet wife who married for money." I was Isabella Calder—a force of nature in the global business world.

My father sat in the front row during my keynote speech at the International Tech Summit in New York. As I concluded my presentation to a standing ovation from three thousand industry leaders, I looked down at my father. He had a proud, radiant smile on his face, tears shining in his eyes.

After the summit, we walked together along the quiet paths of Central Park, protected by a discreet team of guards trailing behind us.

"You've done better than I ever did at your age, Bella," my father said softly, patting my shoulder.

"I had a good teacher," I smiled, wrapping my arm through his. "Thank you, Dad. For answering the phone that night. For believing in me."
