Chapter 5 - The Public ExecutionTwo days later, my father hosted an emergency press conference at the Denver Financial Center.

Over a hundred reporters packed the auditorium. Cameras flashed like lightning as my father walked up to the podium, with me standing proudly at his right side, dressed in an immaculate white suit that symbolized my rebirth.
"Good afternoon," Victor Calder began, his voice echoing authoritatively through the hall. "Today, Calder Dominion Group announces the acquisition and total restructuring of Whitmore Holdings."
A chorus of shocked chatter filled the room.
"Furthermore," Victor continued, "due to severe financial mismanagement, corporate espionage, and illegal activities conducted by former CEO Kyle Whitmore, all former contracts have been voided. Effective immediately, Isabella Calder—my daughter—will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer of the newly formed Calder-Whitmore Innovation Group."
A reporter raised her hand frantically. "Mr. Calder! What about Kyle Whitmore? Is it true he was arrested this morning?"
My father stepped aside, allowing me to step up to the microphone.
I adjusted the lapels of my suit and looked straight into the news cameras.
"Kyle Whitmore was arrested two hours ago by federal agents," I said calmly and clearly. "He faces charges of corporate tax fraud, wire fraud, and domestic assault. The evidence against him—including bank statements, security footage from our home, and witness statements—has been submitted to the District Attorney's office."
"Isabella!" another reporter shouted. "How do you feel about your ex-husband’s sudden downfall?"

I offered a small, serene smile.
"Kyle once told me that I was dead weight," I said. "He believed that he built his success all on his own. Today, he learns what happens when the real foundation walks away. I wish him luck in federal prison."
