Chapter 10 - The Multi-Million-Dollar Future
One year later.
The summer sun shone brilliantly over the manicured gardens of a private estate in Lake Minnetonka. The air was filled with the scent of fresh white roses and the soft, elegant melodies of a live string quartet.
I stood in front of a full-length mirror in the estate’s bridal suite, looking at my reflection. I wore a custom, off-the-shoulder gown of delicate French lace, embroidered with thousands of tiny, shimmering crystals. I looked radiant, confident, and blissfully happy.
A gentle knock sounded on the door, and Arthur Pendelton stepped inside. The older lawyer looked at me, his eyes misting over with pride. "You look absolutely stunning, Claire. I’ve seen you navigate the toughest boardrooms in the country, but today is your greatest triumph."
"Thank you, Arthur," I smiled, stepping forward to hug him. "Thank you for always protecting me."
"It was my honor. Now, your groom is waiting, and he looks like he might faint from excitement if you don't walk down that aisle soon," Arthur chuckled, offering me his arm.
As the double doors opened to the outdoor garden, hundreds of guests rose to their feet. I walked down the aisle, my eyes locked entirely on Julian, who stood at the altar. He looked incredibly handsome in a classic black tuxedo, tears glistening in his eyes as he watched me approach.
There was no drama here. No hidden agendas, no manipulation, no greed. There was only pure, unconditional love and a shared vision of a brilliant future.
We exchanged vows we had written ourselves—promises of partnership, respect, and unconditional support. As Julian slid a flawless diamond band onto my finger, the minister smiled. "I now pronounce you husband and wife."
Julian pulled me close, his lips meeting mine in a deep, passionate kiss as the crowd erupted into thunderous applause and cheers.
Later that evening, during our reception under a grand, starlit tent, Julian and I raised our glasses to our friends, family, and corporate partners.
"To my wife," Julian announced into the microphone, his arm wrapped securely around my waist. "The most brilliant CEO, the most resilient soul, and the love of my life. Together, there is nothing we cannot achieve."
