By that afternoon, the media storm hit with devastating precision. Elena’s legal team released a exclusive interview titled: “A Mother’s Tearful Plea: Reclaiming My Deaf Daughter From the Shadow of a Syndicate.”
The video weaponized the algorithms of social media, generating millions of views in hours. Tabloids framed the story as a helpless woman fighting against a terrifying, wealthy tycoon who had used his influence to illegally keep an orphan child. “Is the child safe with a former underworld boss?” one viral headline read. “Money shouldn't buy a mother’s love,” commented thousands of users who didn't know the truth.
The public praise that had surrounded their global foundation transformed into a toxic cloud of suspicion.
Inside the villa, the atmosphere grew suffocating. Hannah found Lily sitting on the floor of her playroom, her iPad open to a translated news article. Lily’s hands were shaking violently as she signed to Hannah, her eyes wide with a profound, resurrected terror.
Is that my first mama? Lily signed, her movements frantic. The lady who left me in the cold? Is she going to take me away from you and Papa?

"Elena’s play is psychological, Matteo," Salvatore explained grimly. Furthermore, she has filed a motion to freeze the Carbone foundation’s assets, claiming the money belongs to Lily’s estate and is being mismanaged by us."
