Chapter 10 - The Star Song Symphony

Claire’s breath hitched, her eyes widening as she looked from the beautiful ring up to Nathan’s loving, devoted face.

"Nathan..." she whispered.

"I spent two years believing that my life ended when Evelyn died," Nathan said, his voice rich with emotion, his hands holding hers tightly. "I built a wall of money and work to keep the world out. But you walked through my gate, Claire. You showed my sons how to heal, and you showed me how to live again. I don't want a housekeeper. I want a partner. I want a mother for my boys, a daughter in Lily, and the love of my life in you. Will you marry me, Claire?"

"Yes," Claire sobbed, a brilliant, radiant smile breaking across her face. "Yes, Nathan. A million times, yes."

Nathan slid the sapphire ring onto her finger, pulling her into a deep, passionate kiss that sealed their new destiny forever.

That evening, the grand mansion on the hill was filled with a light and warmth it had never known before. The five of them sat on the massive rug in the center of the living room, a fire crackling in the hearth.

Lucas and Owen sat on either side of Claire, while Lily curled up in Nathan's lap, her small, healthy heart beating steadily against his chest. Together, their voices rose in perfect, beautiful harmony, singing the old star song—not as a melody of grief or a memory of loss, but as a triumphant symphony of a family that had survived the dark, conquered the storm, and finally found their way home into the everlasting, beautiful light.
