Chapter 8 - The Beast UnleashedViktor’s finger tightened on the trigger.

Clack.
Before the bullet could leave the barrel, a dark, furious shadow launched from the floor.
Goliath didn’t bark. He didn't growl. He simply exploded into motion. One hundred and fifty pounds of pure, unadulterated canine fury slammed directly into Viktor’s chest, sending the assassin flying backward across the mahogany table.
The submachine gun discharged wildly, riddling the ceiling with bullets as it clattered across the floor.
Viktor screamed, trying to draw a backup knife, but Goliath clamped his massive jaws down around the man’s tactical vest, shaking him like a rag doll before pinning him to the floor with bone-crushing weight.
Bang!
The library doors blew inward. Damien rushed into the room, his clothes disheveled, his dual pistols drawn and ready to kill. Behind him, four elite guards poured in, weapons raised.
Damien scanned the room in a fraction of a second: Viktor pinned beneath Goliath, the shattered table, and Briar trembling against the piano, unharmed.
Damien’s face turned into a mask of pure, murderous rage. He walked slowly over to Viktor, stepped on the assassin’s hand with the heel of his Italian leather shoe, and ground down until bones snapped.
Viktor shrieked in agony.
"You stepped foot in my house," Damien whispered, his voice trembling with a terrifying, homicidal calm. "You pointed a weapon at my woman."
"D-Damien... wait..." Viktor choked out, blood pooling at the corner of his mouth. "The syndicate... they know you're weak. They'll come for both of you—"
May you like
"Let them come," Damien said softly, raising his pistol right between Viktor’s eyes. "Because starting tonight, there is no more mercy left in me."
Crack.
