Chapter 5 - Justice Served
Evelyn looked at the couple for a long moment. She felt no anger anymore—only a profound sense of clarity.
"I won't pull back the federal charges, Robert," Evelyn stated firmly. "Actions have consequences. You stole millions from this company and lied to your shareholders. You must face the law for that."
Robert lowered his head, knowing there was no way out.
"However," Evelyn continued, looking at Vivian, "I will not take your primary home, nor will I bankrupt your immediate estate beyond what is legally required to repay the stolen funds. I have no interest in destroying lives out of vengeance."

"You showed my daughter utter contempt," Evelyn said softly. "I choose to show you mercy—not because you deserve it, but because I want my daughter to grow up knowing that real power is shown through grace, not cruelty."
Robert signed the surrender documents without another word. As he and Vivian walked out of the office, stripped of their titles, their unearned status, and their arrogance, they left behind a legacy of shame—but also a hard-learned lesson in humility.
