Chapter 10 - The Unbroken Circle

Five years after that dark day on the hospital floor, life had come full circle in the most beautiful way imaginable.

The sun was setting over the hills of the Moretti estate, bathing the stone patio in warm golden light.

I sat in a comfortable lounge chair on the veranda, cradling our newborn son, Leo Donato Moretti, who slept peacefully against my chest, wrapped in a soft blue blanket.

Across the lawn, six-year-old Aria was running through the grass, laughing as Luca chased her, lifting her up onto his shoulders as she reached up to touch the green leaves of the oak trees.

I watched them—my husband, my daughter, and my son—feeling a deep, unbreakable sense of peace wash over every corner of my soul.

Derek Morrison was a distant memory, serving out his sentence and fading into complete obscurity. The pain, the tears, and the empty space on that original birth certificate had been completely erased, replaced by an empire of love, loyalty, and unwavering devotion.

Luca walked across the lawn toward the patio, carrying Aria on his shoulders. He set her down gently, walked over to my chair, and leaned down to kiss my forehead before gently touching our sleeping son’s cheek.

"What are you thinking about, my love?" Luca asked softly, sitting on the arm of my chair and wrapping his arm around my shoulders.

I looked down at my baby boy, then up at my radiant daughter, and finally into the dark, loving eyes of the man who had saved us.

"I was thinking," I smiled, resting my head against his chest, "that heartbreak didn't win. Love did."

And as the stars began to twinkle over our home, I knew that our family’s story was built on a foundation that nothing in this world could ever break.
