Chapter 9 - The Family Legacy

Two years later, the gardens of the Moretti estate were decorated with thousands of white orchids, crystal lanterns, and soft silk ribbons for our wedding day.

I stood before a full-length mirror inside the master suite, wearing a breathtaking, custom lace wedding gown that flowed around me like a waterfall.

Three-year-old Aria stood beside me in a matching little flower girl dress, holding a tiny basket of white rose petals, grinning from ear to ear.

"You look like a princess, Mommy!" Aria giggled, hugging my knees.

"And you look like a little angel, my love," I smiled, bending down to kiss her cheek.

The heavy oak doors opened gently, and Paige walked inside, wearing a dusty rose bridesmaid dress, holding a glass of champagne.

"It’s time, Emma," Paige smiled, her eyes sparkling with tears of joy. "The guests are waiting, and the groom looks like he’s about to faint from anticipation."

I took a deep, peaceful breath, held my daughter’s hand, and walked down the grand marble staircase toward the garden.

As the string quartet began playing softly, I stepped out onto the white aisle lined with our closest friends, medical staff from St. Jude's, and family.

At the end of the aisle stood Luca. He looked breathtakingly handsome in his black wedding tuxedo, his dark eyes locking onto mine with an intensity of love that made the entire world disappear around us.

When I reached him, he took my hand, raised it to his lips, and whispered: "You take my breath away, my wife."

We spoke our vows under the open sky, promising to honor, protect, and love each other for all eternity. And when the priest declared us husband and wife, Luca pulled me into his arms and kissed me as our guests erupted into joyous cheers.
