Chapter 6 - A Brand New Dawn

Six months later.
The ocean breeze blew gently across the cliffside terrace of the newly restored Croft Estate in Newport. The sun was setting over the Atlantic Ocean, painting the sky in breathtaking shades of gold and violet.
Vivian stood on the terrace, dressed in an elegant white silk gown, holding a glass of sparkling cider. The past six months had been a whirlwind of legal victories, restructuring Croft Logistics, and restoring her father’s legacy as the new Chairman and CEO.
Hands gently wrapped around her waist from behind. Julian rested his chin lightly on her shoulder, drawing her close against his chest.
"You're thinking too hard," Julian whispered into her ear, his voice filled with warmth.
Vivian leaned back into his embrace, letting out a peaceful sigh. "I was just thinking about how different my life was a year ago. I was pretending to be invisible, waiting on guests, hiding from the world."
"And now you run the largest shipping logistics empire in the Northern Hemisphere," Julian smiled, kissing her cheek. "And, more importantly, you're ruining my reputation as New York's most eligible bachelor."
Vivian turned in his arms, smiling up at him. "Oh? Is that a complaint, Mr. Kingsley?"
"It’s a declaration," Julian said, his eyes filled with profound love. He reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a small velvet box.
He didn't make a grand, dramatic speech. He didn't need to. They had fought through bullets, betrayal, and corporate war together.
Julian opened the box, revealing a flawless, ethically sourced emerald ring—the exact color of the oceans her family’s ships sailed upon.
"Vivian Croft," Julian said softly, looking deeply into her eyes. "You protected my home, you saved my life, and you showed me what real strength looks like. Will you build a future with me?"
Vivian’s eyes glistened with happy tears. For the first time in her life, she felt entirely safe, completely cherished, and utterly loved.
"Yes," she whispered, her voice overflowing with emotion. "Yes, Julian. Absolutely."
Julian slid the ring onto her finger and pulled her into a passionate kiss as the last rays of sunlight dipped below the horizon.

Below the terrace, Sir Edmund stood near the garden, raising his glass in a quiet, solitary toast to the couple, a proud smile on his face.
The housekeeper who had once been forced into the shadows was now a queen in her own right—standing tall, loved, and victorious beside the man who had chosen her above all else.
