CHAPTER 2: THE VIDEO NOBODY KNEW EXISTED

Victoria recovered quickly.
She forced a smile.
"Mr. Sterling, there seems to be a misunderstanding."
Nathan turned.
For the first time she realized she had made a mistake.
A very expensive mistake.
"I agree."
He nodded.
"There is a misunderstanding."
Relief flickered across Victoria's face.
Then Nathan continued.
"The misunderstanding is that you believe nobody saw what you did."
A murmur swept through the ballroom.
Victoria's confidence vanished.
"What are you talking about?"
Nathan looked toward the massive screen behind the stage.
"Play it."
A technician froze.
"What?"
"The security footage."
The room exploded with whispers.
Victoria went white.
"No."
Nathan's eyes narrowed.
"No?"
Her breathing accelerated.
The technician hesitated.
Nathan spoke again.
"Play it."
The screen lit up.
The footage appeared.
Crystal clear.
Every guest watched.
Victoria approaching Emily.
Victoria grabbing the dress.
Victoria pulling.
Victoria laughing.
And finally...
The deliberate tear.
No accident.
No misunderstanding.
No excuse.
The evidence filled the room in perfect silence.
Several guests looked away.
Others stared in disbelief.
One board member quietly set down his champagne glass and walked away from Victoria entirely.
The damage was immediate.
And it was only beginning.
Because Nathan had one more surprise.
"There's another video."
Victoria's knees nearly buckled.
Emily looked up.
"What video?"
Nathan's jaw tightened.
"The one explaining why this happened."
The room became silent again.
Victoria whispered one desperate word.
"Please."
Nathan ignored her.
And the second recording began.
