Chapter 10 - The Ultimate Smile

The drama with Victoria was settled within forty-eight hours; Arthur’s legal team made it clear that any custody battle would be corporate suicide for her. The threat was gone, but the incident had crystallized something vital for Arthur.

A month later, on a warm June evening, the Whitmore estate was hosting another gathering. But this wasn't a stiff charity gala filled with strangers. It was a backyard barbecue. Mrs. Gable was there, Nancy Keene was laughing with a glass of wine, and Alice and Brooke were chasing fireflies across the lawn.

The forbidden studio in the west wing was no longer locked. It had been fully restored as an art room for Brooke and Alice, filled with light, laughter, and Eleanor's beautiful memory.

Arthur led Sarah away from the party, toward the edge of the terrace overlooking the glowing ocean.

"Sarah," Arthur said, taking her hands in his. The severe billionaire was completely gone, replaced by a man whose heart was finally full. "When you walked into this house, you broke every single rule I had. And thank God you did. You didn't just clean my house, Sarah. You saved my daughter. And you saved me."

He pulled a small, velvet box from his pocket, opening it to reveal a beautiful, classic diamond ring.

"I don't want you to be a companion or a coordinator anymore. I want us to be a family. Alice, Brooke, you, and me. Sarah, will you marry me?"

Sarah looked past him to the lawn, where Brooke and Alice were running together, their bright laughter echoing through the summer night. Brooke looked up toward the terrace, saw her father and Sarah, and flashed a massive, brilliant, beautiful smile—the kind of smile that could light up the darkest mansion in the world.

Tears of pure joy spilled down Sarah's cheeks as she looked back into Arthur's eyes.

"Yes, Arthur," she whispered, stepping into his arms. "Yes, a thousand times."

The mansion was no longer a place of expensive silence. It was finally, truly, a home.

THE END.
