Chapter 6 - THE HEAVEN OF COSTELLO

One year later.

Spring had arrived over Lake Michigan in a burst of bright sunshine, sweet blooming jasmine, and clear blue skies.

The grand lawn of the Costello estate had been transformed into an enchanted garden. Thousands of white orchids, blush roses, and silk marquees covered the rolling green grass leading down to the sparkling waters of the lake.

Over three hundred guests sat in white velvet chairs along a aisle covered in pink rose petals.

At the head of the floral arch stood Roman Costello.

He looked extraordinarily handsome, dressed in a custom white tuxedo jacket with dark trousers, his dark hair brushed back, his silver eyes glowing with a deep, radiant warmth that transformed his severe features into pure happiness. Standing beside him as his best man was Marco.

The orchestra began to play a breathtaking, romantic rendition of Canon in D.

Walking down the aisle first were two-year-old Leo, Luca, and Maya.

The boys wore matching white mini-tuxedos, walking proudly hand-in-hand, while little Maya wore a sweet lace flower-girl dress, tossing rose petals from a small silver basket with a bright, ringing laugh.

The crowd applauded softly, their hearts melting at the sight of the happy, vocal triplets.

Then, the grand wrought-iron garden doors opened.

Pamela Hayes walked down the aisle.

She was a vision of absolute, breathtaking perfection. Her custom Italian lace bridal gown was designed to celebrate every glorious, voluptuous curve of her body. The sweetheart neckline highlighted her glowing skin, while an intricate train embroidered with diamond threads trailed ten feet behind her. Her auburn hair fell in soft, luxurious waves over her shoulders, crowned with a tiara of pearls and emeralds.

Around her neck hung her silver locket—now open, displaying a photo of her lost triplets on one side, and a photo of Leo, Luca, and Maya on the other.

As her hazel eyes met Roman’s, the mob king felt a lump rise in his throat, tears of pure love brimming in his eyes.

Pamela walked with grace, pride, and an undeniable majesty. She was no longer the tired, grieving waitress who had walked into Giovanni’s Trattoria on a rainy Thursday night. She was the heart, soul, and undisputed Queen of the Costello empire.

As she reached the altar, Roman stepped down, taking both of her warm hands in his.

"You take my breath away, my sweet Pamela," Roman whispered, his voice trembling slightly with emotion.

"And you gave me my life back, Roman," Pamela replied gently, her eyes shining with tears of pure joy.

The priest stepped forward, opening his golden gospel book as the sweet spring breeze rustled the rose petals around them.

"We are gathered here today," the priest began, "to join Roman Costello and Pamela Hayes in holy matrimony. A union born not of power or chance, but of healing, courage, and an everlasting love."

When the time came for the vows, Roman held both of Pamela’s hands, looking directly into her eyes without looking at any script.

"Pamela," Roman said, his deep baritone voice carrying clearly across the quiet garden. "When you walked into that diner, I was a man living in cold, dark shadow. I thought my heart was buried forever. But you walked into our lives and brought warmth, speech, and love back to my children and my soul. You saved my family."

He slipped a thick platinum band encrusted with flawless diamonds onto her finger.

"I vow to love you, honor you, and shield you with my life for as long as I draw breath," Roman swore fiercely.

Sophia wiped a tear of joy from her cheek, taking a matching platinum band.

"Roman," Pamela whispered softly, her voice rich with deep love. "You showed me that grief doesn't have to be the end of the story—it can be the beginning of a miracle. You gave my broken heart a home, and you gave me three beautiful angels to love. My heart, my life, and my soul belong to you forever."

She slipped the ring onto his heavy finger.

"By the authority vested in me," the priest announced with a radiant smile, "I now pronounce you husband and wife! What God has joined together, let no man put asunder. You may kiss the bride!"

Roman didn't wait a single second.

He wrapped his massive arms around Pamela’s broad, lace-clad waist, pulling her flush against his chest, and dipped her low, kissing her deeply, passionately, as the entire crowd erupted into wild, thunderous applause.

Leo, Luca, and Maya ran forward, throwing their small arms around their parents' legs, laughing happily under the golden sun.

Roman lifted Pamela back onto her feet, then bent down, scooping up all three toddlers into his massive arms, holding his wife and his children tight against his heart.

The sorrow, the silence, and the darkness were gone forever.

And as the warm spring breeze carried the scent of blooming roses across the blue waters of the lake, the mafia king, his beautiful queen, and their three little angels walked hand in hand into their forever—safe, whole, and blooming in absolute love.
