Chapter 18 - The SonSarah Bennett was dead.

That was the first thing Marco discovered.
She had died eight years earlier.
Her son had disappeared from the records.
No adoption.
No school records after age ten.
No medical records.
Nothing.
It was as if the boy had ceased to exist.
Dominic sat in silence.
Evelyn sat beside him.
“Do you remember Sarah?”
Dominic shook his head.
“No.”
“Could your father have hidden this?”
“Yes.”
“Why?”
Dominic looked at her.
“I don't know.”
Then Daniel returned.
He entered the room exhausted.
Dominic immediately stood.
“You knew.”
Daniel looked at him.
“Knew what?”
“My son.”
Daniel went pale.
Dominic grabbed his coat.
“Tell me.”
Daniel closed his eyes.
“Yes.”
Evelyn gasped.
“How?”
Daniel sat down.
“Anthony told me.”
“Where is he?”
Daniel didn't answer.
“Where is my son?”
“Dominic…”
“Where?”
Daniel whispered:
“His name is Noah.”
Dominic's heart stopped.
“Where is Noah?”
“Voss took him.”
Dominic turned away.
“Why?”
“Because Noah was born with a blood disorder.”
Evelyn frowned.
“What does that have to do with Voss?”
“Everything.”
Daniel explained.
Voss's organization had been conducting illegal medical research using wealthy families.
Anthony discovered it.
Noah was one of the children they wanted.
Anthony protected him.
But when Dominic was sent away, Anthony had no choice.
He gave Noah to Sarah.
Then Voss found them.
Sarah ran.
She died years later.
Noah disappeared.
Dominic's hands shook.
“Why didn't you tell me?”
“Because I thought telling you would get Lily killed.”
Dominic stared at him.
“You made that decision for me.”
“I was trying to protect you.”
“You had no right.”
Daniel nodded.
“I know.”
Dominic walked toward the window.
For eighteen years he had believed he had lost one child.
Now he discovered there had been another.
A son.
A boy who had grown up without him.
And somewhere in the world, that boy was being used as leverage.
His phone buzzed.
A video appeared.
Dominic opened it.
A teenage boy sat in a dark room.
He had dark hair.
Pale skin.
And Dominic's eyes.
The boy looked directly into the camera.
“My name is Noah.”
Dominic couldn't breathe.
Noah continued.
“If you're watching this…”
He paused.
“I think you're my father.”
The video ended.
Dominic lowered the phone.
Evelyn reached for his hand.
“Go find him.”
Dominic looked at her.
“I will.”
Daniel stood.
“I know where he is.”
Dominic stared.
“Where?”
Daniel answered:
“Voss Island.”
Dominic frowned.
“What is that?”
“An island off the coast.”
“Who owns it?”
May you like
Daniel looked at him.
“Your family.”
