Chapter 5 - The Legal Exorcism

The next month was a whirlwind of legal cleansing. True to my word, the eviction notice was served to Vivian Bradford by a team of federal marshals. The high-and-mighty queen of high society was forced to pack her designer bags under the watchful eyes of the media she had tried so hard to manipulate.

Because of her previous fraudulent actions—including the fake bank statements she had used to deceive Garrett and her attempts to blackmail me—my legal team, alongside a furious Garrett who finally found his backbone, filed a mountain of civil and criminal charges against her.

Vivian was forced into a humiliating settlement: in exchange for avoiding prison time for corporate fraud and harassment, she signed a legally binding, ironclad restraining order. She was barred from ever coming within a mile of me, Garrett, or the triplets. She was stripped of her status, her fortune, and her access to the elite circles she had spent her life worshiping. She was forced to retire to a small, isolated cottage in a distant town, forgotten by the world.

With the poison finally removed from the Bradford name, the true healing could begin.

Garrett didn't ask for custody. He didn't demand rights. Instead, he did something that truly surprised me: he stepped down as CEO of Bradford Logistics, handing full operational control over to my management team. He took a lower-level position within the firm, choosing to work hard and earn his own living rather than relying on his mother's stolen inheritance.

Every weekend, he would come to the park near my penthouse. He didn't push himself into the boys' lives; he sat on the bench, waiting patiently until they were comfortable enough to approach him.

One Saturday afternoon, the sun was shining brightly over the park. Leo, Owen, and Wyatt were chasing a soccer ball across the grass. Owen kicked the ball too hard, and it rolled right up to Garrett’s feet.

Garrett picked up the ball, his face soft, a nervous smile on his lips. He knelt down, holding it out to the little boy. "Here you go, buddy."

Owen looked at Garrett, then looked back at me. I stood a few yards away, nodding gently with a reassuring smile.

Owen turned back to Garrett, his little gray eyes shining. "Thanks, Daddy."

Garrett froze, his eyes instantly welling with tears. He pulled Owen into a tight, desperate hug, his shoulders shaking. Moments later, Leo and Wyatt ran over, throwing themselves into the embrace, laughing and tackling their father onto the soft grass.

I watched them from a distance, a profound sense of peace washing over me. The woman they tried to erase hadn't just survived—she had conquered the monsters, redeemed the father of her children, and built a fortress of love that no one could ever destroy.
