Chapter 4 - The Financial Execution

I gestured to Marcus, who handed me a thick leather portfolio filled with financial documents.

"Ten years ago," I began, pacing slowly in front of my trembling relatives, "when my father died and left us broke, I came to every single one of you sitting in this room. I asked for a loan of ten thousand dollars to start my freight enterprise. Do you remember what you said, Uncle Richard?"

Richard swallowed hard, unable to meet my eyes.

"You called me a loser," I continued smoothly. "You told me I had my father's weak blood and that I would end up in a homeless shelter. You threw fifty dollars at my feet and told me to buy a suit for a job interview at a gas station."

I slammed the leather portfolio down onto the marble buffet table with a sound like a gunshot.

"Every property you own, Richard—your country club house, your summer villa in Miami, your commercial office park—is mortgaged through regional banks that my parent corporation acquired last month," I revealed. "Every business loan your children have taken out is backed by credit lines that I personally control."

Aunt Evelyn gasped, clutching her chest. "Julian... no..."

"At 8:00 AM tomorrow morning," I said, looking down at my watch, "every single loan held by every person in this room will be called in for immediate default due to financial fraud and illegal conversion of assets. Your bank accounts have already been frozen under preliminary Mareva injunctions filed by my legal team two hours ago."

"You're destroying us!" one of my cousins screamed, standing up in outrage. "You're bankrupting your own family over a maid?!"

Before the cousin could take another step, Marcus struck him across the face with a swift, backhanded gloved fist, dropping the young man instantly to the floor.

"You will refer to Mrs. Vance as 'Ma'am' or 'Mrs. Vance,'" Marcus growled, stepping over the groveling cousin.

"You have thirty minutes," I said, taking out my handkerchief and wiping my fingers as if I had touched something filthy. "Guard units will escort each of you to the front gates. You will leave with the clothes on your backs. No purses, no jewelry, no coats. Everything you brought into this house was bought with my stolen money, and it stays here."

"Julian! Please!" Aunt Evelyn wept, crawling across the floor toward my shoes. "Where are we supposed to go?! It's raining outside!"

"I hear the gas station is hiring," I replied coldly. "Marcus... clear my house."
