Chapter 10 - The Ultimate Beginning

Spring returned with a brilliant explosion of blooming cherry blossoms and warm, golden sunlight filtering through the glass doors of our home.
In the private VIP suite of Chicago Memorial Hospital, the quiet room was suddenly pierced by the most beautiful, miraculous sound in the world: the healthy, resounding cry of a newborn baby.
The chief obstetrician smiled warmly, wrapping our newborn son in a soft, cream-colored flannel blanket and placing him gently into Audrey’s arms.
"Congratulations, parents," the doctor said softly. "You have a healthy, perfect baby boy."
Tears of pure joy streamed down Audrey’s face as she cradled our son close to her chest, kissing his tiny forehead while laughing through her tears.
I stood beside the hospital bed, wrapping my arms around both of them, feeling a profound, overwhelming wave of peace wash over my soul.
Our son had his mother's kind, expressive eyes and a quiet, steady strength that told me right away he was destined for greatness. But most importantly, he was born into a world free of toxicity, cruelty, and conditional love.
Audrey looked up at me, her eyes shining with radiant happiness, and handed our son into my arms.
I held him close to my heart, looking down at his tiny, perfect face as he gripped my finger with surprising strength. The storm had finally passed. The monsters had been banished. And our future was brighter than the morning sun.

I whispered softly into the warm air of the room:
“Welcome home, little one. You are safe. You are cherished. And no one will ever touch your happiness.”
