Chapter 6 - The Grand Ballroom AssemblyThe chandeliers of the Grand Imperial Ballroom cast a blinding, brilliant light across the massive, wood-paneled hall. Three hundred of the most elite business leaders, international investors, and corporate partners sat in hushed, nervous silence around round tables draped in white silk.

At the front of the room towered a raised stage backed by a massive LED screen displaying the gleaming silver crest of the Escalante family.

The double doors at the back of the ballroom swung open.

All heads turned.

Julian Vance walked down the center aisle. He had managed to change into a spare suit, but his face was hollow, his eyes haunted by the sheer speed of his destruction. Beside him walked no one—Chloe had taken a taxi to the airport hours ago, leaving him utterly alone.

As Julian walked down the aisle, the whispers started. Whispers of pity, mockery, and disbelief. Men who had bowed to him yesterday now refused to meet his eye.

He reached the front row, where a single empty seat waited for him, flanked by two private security guards. He didn't sit down. He stood rigidly, staring up at the stage with a mixture of terror and burning hatred.

At 8:00 PM sharp, the side door near the stage opened.

Arthur Pendelton stepped out, holding a microphone. "Ladies and gentlemen," he announced clearly, his voice echoing through the massive hall. "Please welcome the Chairperson and Principal Owner of Escalante Global Holdings... Mrs. Elena Escalante."

The side curtains parted.

Gasps rippled through the audience.

Elena walked onto the stage. She was breathtaking. She wore an exquisite, floor-length midnight-blue silk gown embroidered with subtle silver thread that caught the light like a constellation of stars. A diamond pendant rested against her collarbone—the exact family heirloom Julian had once dismissed as "costume jewelry" her mother had left behind. Her dark hair was styled in sleek, cascading waves, and her posture was that of a queen reclaiming her throne.

She didn't look like the woman standing in the rain last night. She looked like an empire personified.

Elena walked to the center of the podium, resting her hands lightly on the mahogany surface. Her dark, piercing eyes swept across the room until they finally locked onto Julian in the front row.

The entire ballroom fell into an absolute, breathless vacuum of silence.

"Good evening," Elena’s voice rang out, clear, melodic, and carrying an effortless authority that commanded total obedience. "Thank you all for attending tonight’s extraordinary assembly."

She turned her gaze slowly down toward Julian, watching as the color completely drained from his face.

"Twenty-four hours ago," Elena continued, her voice echoing softly through the sound system, "a man stood in the lobby of this very resort and declared that everything here belonged to him. He told me that my presence was an embarrassment. He told me that my life in his world was over."

A murmur rippled through the crowd. Julian gripped the edge of his chair so hard his fingers turned white.

"He forgot a fundamental rule of business," Elena said, stepping away from the podium, her eyes never leaving his. "Management is temporary. Ownership is eternal. And an empire built on borrowed power collapses the moment its true owner decides to take that power back."

She turned toward the massive LED screen behind her.

With a click of a remote in her hand, the screen flashed. The corporate registry documents, the original Escalante-Vance Harmonization Accord, the bank transfer records, and the signed security log from last night—certifying Julian’s reckless eviction—blazed across the screen in high-definition detail for every investor in the room to see.

"Effective immediately," Elena announced, her voice ringing with finality, "Julian Vance’s management contract is terminated with prejudice. All corporate assets, international subsidiaries, and residential properties associated with Azure Bay are officially unified under the direct administration of Escalante Global Holdings."

She paused, letting the silence settle over the room like a heavy shroud. Then, she looked straight down into Julian’s hollow, terrified eyes.

"Welcome to your new life, Julian," she whispered into the microphone. "You are officially dismissed."
