The next two weeks were a quiet battle for Liam’s soul.
Dr. Evans confirmed that Liam was suffering from severe psychological trauma, neglect, and mild malnutrition, but fortunately, no permanent physical damage. Under Madeline’s constant, loving care, the little boy slowly began to heal.
She slept on the floor next to him when he was too afraid to sleep in his bed. She fed him tiny, warm meals with her own hands. Slowly, the terror in his eyes began to fade, replaced by the warmth of a mother’s love. For the first time in two years, Liam spoke.
"Mommy," he whispered one evening, clutching his favorite teddy bear. "Don't go away again."
"Never, my love," Madeline cried, kissing his forehead. "Mommy is here forever."
While Liam healed, Madeline’s legal team was busy. She discovered that during her time in London, Jeffrey had been embezzling funds from the international expansion accounts to fund Cynthia’s lavish lifestyle and Noelle’s gambling debts.
He had assumed Madeline would never notice because he controlled the domestic servers. But he had forgotten one thing: Madeline was the one who built the system.
She quietly compiled all the evidence—the abuse footage, the financial embezzlement, and the corporate fraud—and prepared for the ultimate blow.
