Chapter 5: The Showdown at Harper Financial

Back in Manhattan, the main boardroom of Harper Financial Holdings was filled with tension. Thomas Harper stood at the front of the long glass table, a smug smile on his face as he looked at the thirty board members. Julianna sat beside him, wearing a look of arrogant victory.
"The evidence of Victoria’s emotional instability is irrefutable," Thomas announced, clicking a remote to show doctored medical evaluations on the main screen. "She has abandoned her duties, spent millions on wild conspiracy theories, and was recently seen consorting with vagrants. For the survival of this corporation, I move for an immediate vote to strip her of her executive title and grant full authority to her rightful heir, Julianna."
"I second the motion," a corrupt director called out.
"Before you cast those votes," a voice echoed from the back of the room.
The heavy double doors of the boardroom slid open. Victoria walked in, her posture flawless, wearing a striking emerald-green suit that commanded total authority.
But she wasn't alone.
Walking beside her was Alexander Vance, followed by Grandma Rose, little Emma, and the real Emily Harper.
The boardroom went completely silent. Thomas’s glass of water slipped from his fingers, shattering against the glass table. Julianna jumped to her feet, her face turning a horrifying shade of green.
"What... what is the meaning of this?!" Thomas stammered, backing away toward the windows. "Who are these people?!"
"This is the real inheritance, Thomas," Victoria said, her voice echoing like a judgment.
Alexander Vance stepped forward, plugging his laptop into the boardroom system. The doctored medical files on the screens vanished, replaced by a live, unredacted federal indictment from the Department of Justice, accompanied by the certified DNA results proving Emily’s maternity and Emma's lineage.
"The grand jury just returned a true bill indictment against Thomas Harper and the individual known as Julianna," Alexander announced clearly. "Charges include twenty counts of federal kidnapping, human trafficking, corporate fraud, and the systematic theft of $45 million from the Thomas Legacy Trust."
Two federal marshals stepped into the room from the side entrance, their badges gleaming under the lights.
Julianna panicked, turning on Thomas, her fingernails digging into his sleeve. "You said she would never find her! You said the upstate house was untraceable! You ruined my life, you old fool!"
"Get away from me!" Thomas screamed, his aristocratic mask completely shattering as he was forced down onto the glass table by the marshals, his hands pulled behind his back for the handcuffs.
As Thomas was led away in chains, he glared at Victoria with absolute, venomous hatred. "You think you’ve won, Victoria? You ruined the company! The IPO is dead! The Harper name is worth nothing now!"

Victoria walked up to the head of the table, pulling Emma and Emily close to her sides. She looked down at her brother-in-law with an expression of pure, unbreakable dignity.
"The money means nothing, Thomas," Victoria said, her voice resonant and clear. "The company was just stone and paper. But my family... my family is finally whole."
