Chapter 6 - A New Beginning

One year later.

The Grand Crest Manor was once again filled with music, flowers, and dozens of guests. But this time, there were no armed guards hiding in the shadows, no deceptive smiles, and no dangerous secrets.

The sun shone brightly over the manicured estate gardens as white silk ribbons fluttered in the warm spring breeze.

Dominic Romano stood at the altar near the marble fountain, dressed in a sharp, tailored black tuxedo. Beside him stood Marco, looking unusually handsome with a fresh haircut, serving as best man.

The violin quartet began to play a soft, romantic melody.

The crowd stood as nine-year-old Lily Romano walked down the aisle as the flower girl. She wore a beautiful yellow silk dress, and on her left wrist, shining brightly under the sun, was her mother's original blue butterfly bracelet—now safely restored with a modernized, unlosable locking mechanism.

Behind her came Claire.

She was breathtaking. She wore a sweeping ivory lace wedding gown that clung elegantly to her figure, a long veil trailing behind her. She carried a bouquet of white roses and blue hydrangeas.

As Claire walked toward the altar, Dominic felt his throat tighten. The man who had faced down federal prosecutors, mob bosses, and ruthless cartels without blinking felt tears pricking the corners of his eyes.

When Claire reached his side, Dominic took her hand, squeezing it tightly.

"You look like an angel," he whispered.

"And you look like a very happy man," Claire smiled back, her eyes shining with warmth.

The ceremony was beautiful and sincere. When the officiant declared them husband and wife, Dominic pulled Claire into his arms and kissed her deeply, to the roaring applause of their close friends, loyal business partners, and household staff.

At the reception in the garden, Lily ran up to them, tossing her arms around both of their waists.

"Does this mean Claire is officially my mommy now?" Lily asked, looking up with big, hopeful eyes.

Claire knelt down to Lily's level, sweeping a lock of golden hair out of the little girl's face. "Only if you want me to be, sweetheart."

Lily threw her arms around Claire’s neck, hugging her with all her strength. "I've wanted you to be my mommy since the night you saved my cake!"

Dominic knelt down beside them, wrapping his powerful arms around both of his girls.

The Romano family was finally whole. The shadows of the past—the greedy fiancée, the corrupt doctor, the turf wars—were gone forever, replaced by an unshakable foundation of trust, courage, and unconditional love.

And as the sun began to set over the hills of New Jersey, painting the sky in shades of gold and violet, Dominic looked at his wife and daughter, knowing that the greatest empire he would ever build was right here in his arms.
