Chapter 6 - The New Legacy

One year later.

The grand ballroom of the Moretti estate was filled with light, laughter, and the soft melody of a grand piano.

It was our wedding reception.

Three hundred guests—business partners, loyal staff members, and friends from across the city—gathered under the twelve crystal chandeliers to celebrate the union of Alessandro Moretti and his new wife, Elena.

I stood near the terrace doors in a stunning white silk gown with lace sleeves, watching my daughter—now four years old—dancing on top of Alessandro’s polished leather shoes as he spun her gently across the floor. She wore a tiny matching white dress, her dark curls pinned back with little pearl clips.

The music ended, and the crowd burst into warm, genuine applause.

Alessandro lifted Emma into his arms and walked over to where I was standing. He wrapped his free arm around my waist, pulling me close to his side.

"You look breathtaking, Mrs. Moretti," he whispered in my ear.

"You don't look so bad yourself, Mr. Moretti," I teased softly, resting my hand against his chest.

Marcus walked up, holding a small silver tray with three glasses of sparkling cider. He offered a respectful nod to both of us, a rare, genuine smile touching his scarred face. "A toast to the family."

Alessandro lifted his glass, looking down at me, then at Emma, and finally out at the warm, welcoming crowd inside the mansion that had once been a fortress of quiet paranoia.

"To truth," Alessandro said softly, his dark eyes glowing with absolute happiness. "To courage. And to the little girl who washed a shirt and saved my life."

We clinked our glasses together under the brilliant light of the chandeliers—a family built not on fear, power, or syndicate charters, but on the simple, unbreakable strength of love.
