Chapter 6 - The White Roses of Oyster Bay

Two months later.
The summer sun beamed down on the estate grounds of Oyster Bay. A gentle sea breeze rustled through the pristine rose garden, carrying the sweet scent of hundreds of blooming white roses across the green lawns.
The grand marble aisle was set up once again in the center of the lawn, framed by elegant white chairs occupied by fifty close friends, estate staff, and trusted associates. There were no armed guards in dark sunglasses standing at the perimeter. There were no tense whispers of corporate coups or federal indictments.
At the altar stood Adrian Bellucci.
He wore a custom black tuxedo, looking handsome, calm, and visibly happier than anyone had ever seen him in his entire life. Beside him stood Dominic Russo, acting as his best man, wearing a warm, proud smile.
The harpist began to play a gentle, classic melody.
Down the marble path walked little Emma Cole.
She wore a brand-new, beautiful pale pink dress with delicate lace sleeves. Her dark curls were held in place by a band of tiny white satin roses, and her Sunday shoes were sparkling clean—and worn on the correct feet. In her small hands, she carried a basket of rose petals, scattering them along the path with a bright, joyous grin.
Behind her walked Claire.
She was breathtaking. Her gown was a masterpiece of silk and ivory lace, cascading around her like a waterfall. In her hands, she held a simple bouquet of fresh white roses—the very flowers Adrian’s mother had loved.
As she reached the altar, Adrian stepped down, taking her hand in his. Her skin was warm, vibrant, and completely free of fear.
Father Michael smiled at the couple, raising his hands in a quiet blessing.
“We are gathered here today,” the priest spoke, his voice carrying clearly over the gentle sound of the ocean waves, “to unite this man and this woman in holy matrimony. What God has joined together, let no man put asunder.”
When the vows were exchanged and the rings placed upon their fingers, Father Michael looked at Adrian with a warm nod. “You may kiss the bride.”
Adrian took Claire in his arms, pulling her close against his heart, and kissed her deeply.
The small crowd erupted into warm, genuine applause.
During the reception on the terrace overlooking the bay, Adrian walked over to where Nora and Emma were sitting at a sunlit table near the garden gate.
He reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a small, velvet-lined box, handing it to Emma.
Emma opened it, her eyes going wide with wonder. Inside was a delicate, custom-crafted gold necklace featuring a small silver cross surrounded by tiny, sparkling diamonds.
“For the bravest girl in Oyster Bay,” Adrian said with a warm smile, kneeling beside her chair. “Thank you for saving my wedding, Emma.”
Emma giggled, holding the box tightly against her chest. “Are you going to keep Miss Claire forever now, Mr. Adrian?”
Adrian looked up toward the dance floor, where Claire was laughing with her friends, her white gown catching the golden afternoon light.

“Yes, Emma,” Adrian said, his voice filled with deep, everlasting devotion. “Forever.”
The sun began to set over the long island sound, painting the sky in brilliant shades of amber, gold, and deep purple, illuminating a house that was no longer built on shadows and secrets—but restored, finally, on a foundation of truth, protection, and true love.
