Chapter 6 - The Moretti Dynasty
Three months later, the sun was setting over a breathtaking, high-security villa on the cliffs of upstate New York.
The estate was surrounded by rolling green hills, a massive lake, and a security system that could rival a military base. But inside, it looked like a home. There were no concrete walls or cold, steel designs; I had personally redesigned every room to be warm, bright, and filled with life.
On the wide lawn, Leo was running with a golden retriever puppy, his laughter echoing across the water.
I stood on the terrace, a glass of wine in my hand, wearing a soft silk dress.
A pair of strong arms wrapped around my waist from behind, and Storm pressed a warm kiss to my shoulder, his chin resting against my neck.
"He's getting faster," Storm murmured, watching our son play. "He has my stride."
"He has your stubbornness, too," I smiled, leaning back against his chest. "He refused to eat his broccoli again tonight."
"I'll talk to him," Storm chuckled, his grip tightening around me.
The Moretti empire had undergone a quiet, bloodless coup over the last ninety days. Storm had systematically removed every dissenting captain who had dared to threaten his family, securing his position not with fear alone, but with the absolute, unyielding determination of a father protecting his legacy.
"Are you happy, Juliet?" Storm asked softly, his eyes searching mine.
I looked down at the platinum watch resting on my wrist—the same watch I had left on his desk six years ago. Beside it, on my left hand, was a flawless, deep-blue diamond ring.
"We're safe, Storm," I said, turning in his arms to face him. "And for the first time in six years... we're home."
