Chapter 1 – The Boy Nobody Took Seriously
The laughter echoed through the showroom.
Mechanics shook their heads.
Salesmen pulled out their phones, ready to record what they expected would be a humiliating failure.
The billionaire dealership owner, Richard Hale, stood with his arms crossed and a smug grin on his face.
"Go ahead, kid."
The boy quietly stepped toward the car.
He looked no older than fifteen.
His clothes were stained with oil.
His shoes were worn almost completely through.
Yet there was something unusual about the way he moved.
He wasn't nervous.
He wasn't trying to impress anyone.
He simply seemed... focused.
The vehicle in front of him was a limited-edition hypercar worth nearly three million dollars.
The best technicians in the state had spent weeks trying to solve its mysterious problem.
No one had succeeded.
The boy slowly reached into the engine compartment.
He didn't touch anything at first.
He just listened.
The crowd exchanged confused glances.
Then he closed his eyes.
Five seconds.
Ten seconds.
Twenty.
Finally, he opened them.
"I need a screwdriver."
The mechanics laughed again.
One tossed him a tool.
The boy caught it without looking.
Then he removed a small panel deep inside the engine bay.
Almost immediately, his expression changed.
"There."
"What?" Richard asked.
The boy pointed.
Most people couldn't even see what he was referring to.
One mechanic leaned closer.
Then another.
Then a third.
Suddenly the laughter stopped.
Hidden behind a wiring harness was a tiny electronic module.
And attached to it...
a second wire.
A wire that absolutely should not have been there.
The mechanic's face turned pale.
"Who installed that?"
Nobody answered.
The boy carefully disconnected it.
Then he turned to Richard.
"Start the car."
The billionaire rolled his eyes.
"That's it? That's your big repair?"
"Start it."
The crowd watched.
Richard pressed the ignition button.
The engine roared to life instantly.
Perfectly.
No hesitation.
No warning lights.
No error messages.
Several mechanics stared in disbelief.
One quickly connected a diagnostic scanner.
The screen returned clean.
Every fault code that had plagued the vehicle for weeks was gone.
The showroom fell silent.
For the first time all morning...
Richard Hale wasn't smiling.
Because the boy had done in five minutes what an entire team of specialists couldn't do in weeks.
And that wasn't even the most shocking part.
The boy looked directly at Richard and said:
"The car wasn't malfunctioning."
"What?"
"It was being sabotaged."
A chill swept through the room.
"You have someone working here who wanted this dealership to lose millions of dollars."
Nobody laughed anymore.
Because suddenly everyone realized—
the boy wasn't guessing.
He knew exactly what he was talking about.
And somewhere in the crowd...
one employee quietly began backing toward the exit.
