Chapter 6 - A New Dawn

Two weeks later.
The morning sun rose over the New York skyline, casting a warm, golden glow over the facade of the Grand Meridian. The scandal had indeed made headlines, but Arthur’s swift, transparent cooperation with the authorities had turned a potential disaster into a public relations triumph.
The media praised the "Billionaire in a Hoodie" who had personally gone undercover to root out corruption within his own empire. The stock of the Johnson Group, after a brief dip, had rebounded higher than ever, driven by public trust and investor confidence in Arthur’s leadership.
In the newly renovated lobby, a fresh, vibrant energy could be felt.
The cold, exclusionary atmosphere was gone. In its place were warm smiles and a genuine sense of welcome.
Ava Vance had been allowed to keep her job, under strict supervision and a probationary period, as her cooperation had been vital in dismantling Richard's network. She stood near the front desk, watching the new staff interact with the guests.
The heavy revolving doors turned, and a young family—a mother, a father, and a little boy carrying a worn-out backpack—walked in. They looked tired, their clothes simple, clearly overwhelmed by the grand scale of the lobby.
The new front desk clerk, a young woman named Sarah, smiled warmly at them. "Good morning! Welcome to the Grand Meridian. How can we make your stay wonderful today?"
Standing near the mezzanine railing overlooking the lobby, Arthur watched the scene with a quiet smile.
He was wearing his gray hoodie again, but this time, he looked relaxed, the heavy burden he had carried for years finally lifted from his shoulders.
"Daddy!"
A small, joyful voice called out. Arthur turned to see Zoe running toward him. She was wearing a bright yellow dress, her cheeks rosy and full of life. In her arms, she held her stuffed bear—now fully repaired, with a brand-new, matching blue button sewn securely into its empty eye socket.
"Hey, princess," Arthur said, kneeling down and catching her in a warm hug. "Did you have a good breakfast?"
"Yes! I had three pancakes with extra syrup!" she giggled, burying her face in his neck. "And the nice lady at the restaurant gave me a cookie for later!"
Arthur smiled, holding her close. He looked out over the lobby, feeling the presence of his father in the very walls of the building. The promise had been kept. The legacy was secure.
"Are we going home today, Daddy?" Zoe asked, looking up at him with her bright, clear eyes.
May you like
"Yes, sweetheart," Arthur said, kissing her cheek. "We're going home. But whenever we come back, we'll always have a place here."
He stood up, holding her hand, and together they walked toward the elevators, ready for their next adventure, leaving behind the shadows of the past and stepping into a bright, beautiful new dawn.
