Chapter 6 - The True Queen of Oyster Bay

One year later.

The summer sun beamed down on the rolling lawns of the Callaway estate. The grand ballroom doors were wide open to the ocean breeze, but today, there were no cold billionaires, no press cameras, and no fake society smiles.

The lawn was decorated with hundreds of bright yellow balloons, silk banners, and sprawling tables filled with fresh flowers, cupcakes, and fruit tarts.

Over fifty children—the daughters and sons of the estate’s housekeepers, drivers, gardeners, and local community members—were running across the grass, playing tag and laughing under the blue sky.

At the center of the main lawn stood a magnificent, newly built wooden playhouse, designed like a tiny castle, complete with a small lion flag flying proudly from the turret.

Four-year-old Lily Whitfield stood on the top step of the playhouse, wearing a beautiful yellow party dress with sparkling white shoes. Her dark curls were styled with tiny yellow ribbons, and she held a glass of orange juice in her small hands.

“Attention, everyone!” Lily shouted proudly, her voice ringing out across the lawn. “The Lion says it is time for cake!”

The crowd of children and staff cheered happily, rushing toward the large picnic tables.

Standing by the edge of the terrace, looking out over the joyful scene, was Grace.

She wore an exquisite, elegant white lace dress that fell softly to her ankles. On her left ring finger, a breathtaking six-carat flawless diamond sparkled brightly under the afternoon sun—a ring that represented not corporate mergers or strategic alliances, but pure, unbreakable love.

Two strong arms wrapped gently around her waist from behind.

Nathaniel pulled her back against his broad chest, resting his chin softly on her shoulder.

“Is the Queen of the estate satisfied with her daughter’s fourth birthday party?” Nathaniel whispered in her ear, his lips brushing against her warm skin.

Grace leaned back into his embrace, placing her hands over his on her waist.

“It is perfect, my love,” Grace smiled, watching Lily happily hand a piece of chocolate cake to Nora, the head cook. “Although I think Lily believes she actually owns the estate now.”

Nathaniel chuckled, a warm, rich sound that filled Grace’s heart with boundless joy. “She does own the estate, Grace. The board of directors signed over the land trust to her educational foundation last week. Technically, I’m just her estate manager now.”

Grace turned in his arms, wrapping her hands around his neck, looking up into the handsome face of the man who had changed her destiny forever.

“You are much more than an estate manager, Mr. Callaway,” she teased softly.

Nathaniel looked down at her with infinite devotion, his dark eyes brimming with love.

“I’m a husband,” he corrected softly, leaning down to kiss her sweet lips. “And the happiest man alive.”

From across the lawn, Lily came running up to them, holding her giant white bunny in one hand and a star-shaped piece of cake in the other.

“Daddy! Mommy!” Lily yelled happily, jumping up and down between them. “Look! Senator Pickles the pigeon is eating my cake crumbs!”

Nathaniel let out a bright laugh, sweeping Lily up into his arms with one hand while keeping his other arm wrapped securely around Grace’s waist.

Together, the three of them stood in the warm sunlight of Oyster Bay—a family forged not by status, wealth, or title, but by the unbreakable strength of love, protection, and true justice.
