CHAPTER 18: THE VOWS WE KEEP

A month later, the Rossi estate was transformed into a vision of pure, unadulterated romance. Thousands of fairy lights were strung through the ancient oak trees and across the vineyard terraces, illuminating the Tuscan night like a private galaxy. A long, rustic wooden table was set under a canopy of white roses, adorned with crystal glasses, flickering candles, and the finest wine from their own cellars.
This was not a media event. There were no cameras, no Wall Street executives, no high-society parasites. It was a gathering of only their closest, truest friends—the loyal inner circle who had stood by Julian and Elena through their darkest hours. Marcus, the stoic head of security, was there, looking slightly uncomfortable in a tailored suit instead of tactical gear, but smiling warmly nonetheless.
Elena stood in her bedroom, looking at herself in the antique gilded mirror. She wore a simple, breathtaking slip dress of ivory silk, her dark hair cascading in loose, natural waves down her back. There were no heavy diamonds, no masks to hide behind. She was completely, beautifully herself.
Julian walked into the room, stopping dead in his tracks. He wore a classic black tuxedo, looking every bit the devastatingly handsome titan she had fallen in love with.
"You take my breath away," Julian murmured, walking up behind her and wrapping his arms around her waist. He met her gaze in the mirror. "Every single day, you take my breath away."
"Are you ready to marry me again, Mr. Rossi?" Elena teased, turning in his arms to loop her hands around his neck.
"I’d marry you every day for the rest of my life if you’d let me," he replied, kissing her softly.
They walked hand in hand out onto the terrace. The string quartet began to play a soft, hauntingly beautiful melody. As they stood before a floral arch overlooking the moonlit vineyards, Julian took Elena’s hands.
"A year ago, I made a vow to protect you," Julian said, his voice thick with emotion, carrying across the quiet terrace. "But you taught me that love isn't just about protection. It's about partnership. You pulled me out of the darkness. You gave me Isabella. You gave me my soul back. I vow to stand by you, not just as your shield, but as your equal, for all the days of my life."

Elena’s tears flowed freely, glistening in the candlelight. "Julian, you are my heart. Through the fire, through the fear, you never let go of my hand. I vow to love you, fiercely and without fear, forever."
