Chapter 8 - The Rebirth of Sterling Health

In the year following the trial, Claire systematically restructured Sterling Pharmaceutical from the ground up.
The company was rebranded as the Sterling-Vance Medical Research Institute, transforming into an open-source, non-profit foundation dedicated to developing accessible, low-cost therapeutics for rare pediatric and neurological disorders.
All patents associated with Somnodine-7 were permanently surrendered to international regulatory bodies to ensure the compound was neutralized and classified as a restricted controlled substance globally.
Noah was appointed as the Chief Scientific Officer of the new foundation, leading a team of two hundred researchers in a brand-new, sunlit laboratory facility overlooking the city’s green riverfront.
On a warm afternoon in May, the institute held its grand opening ceremony.
Claire stood at the podium in the main atrium, addressing a crowd of hundreds of doctors, scientists, patients, and civic leaders.
"True medicine," Claire said, her voice resonant and warm, "is not measured by the power to control or the wealth you can extract from human suffering. It is measured by the courage to stand between darkness and life, and to never leave anyone behind in the shadows."
The auditorium erupted into thunderous applause.
Standing at the side of the stage, Noah smiled, his dark eyes shining with pride. When Claire stepped down from the podium, she walked straight to him, slipping her hand naturally into his.
