Two years after the gala, Blackstone House reopened—not as a private residence, but as the headquarters of the Elena Blackstone Center for Child Safety and Household Accountability. Julian sold two luxury properties to fund it. Isabella became its founding director.

She resisted the title at first. “I cleaned houses,” she told Julian.

“You noticed what everyone else missed.”

“That does not make me qualified to run a center.”

She took classes at night. She learned nonprofit management, child safeguarding policy, labor rights, trauma-informed reporting. Julian stood in the back of the room, tears in his eyes. Oliver, now fifteen, stood beside him. He had asked to speak that night too. Isabella did not know what he would say.

The room was silent.

Julian covered his mouth with one hand.

Oliver turned back to the audience. “So if a child cries, listen. If a worker speaks, listen. If a story seems too perfect, look behind the painting.”

The room stood.

Isabella did not cry until Oliver walked back and hugged her.

Years later, people still talked about the night she took the microphone. They remembered the wedding cake crashing when Vivienne panicked.
