Chapter 3: The Boardroom Ruin

Elena didn't wait for his epiphany. She was already pushing the massive triple stroller toward the side exit of the bistro, her movements practiced, swift, and desperate.

"Marcus," Sebastian spoke into his collar, his voice dropping into the deadly, quiet frequency his employees feared most.

Outside the restaurant, his executive assistant, who had been waiting in the idling Maybach, answered instantly. "Yes, Mr. Thorne?"

"I want my mother’s personal attorney, Arthur Vance, brought to Thorne Tower within the hour. Freeze her foundation's access to the corporate treasury. Every cent. And call the head of our digital forensics team. I want the archive servers from five years ago unlocked."

"Sir? Is everything alright?" Marcus asked, sensing the tectonic shift.

"My mother stole my family, Marcus," Sebastian said, watching Elena hail a yellow cab in the pouring rain across the street. "And I am about to tear her world apart."

An hour later, the forty-seventh floor of Thorne Tower was under a state of total military-grade lockdown.

Arthur Vance, a senior partner at Manhattan’s most prestigious firm, sat sweating in a leather chair, surrounded by three of Sebastian’s personal security detail. On the massive glass projection screen behind Sebastian's desk, five-year-old encrypted emails were being unspooled in real-time by data analysts.

"It's all here, Mr. Thorne," the lead analyst said, pointing to a string of wire transfers originating from Margaret Thorne’s private charity account. "A payment of two million dollars to a digital fabrication firm in Berlin. They deep-faked the hotel receipts and the Aspen photographs. And here is the courier receipt—the divorce papers were served to Mrs. Thorne's office three days before they were delivered to your ex-wife."

Arthur Vance swallowed hard, his hands trembling. "Sebastian... your mother... she did it for the legacy. She felt Elena was a distraction from the Meridian acquisition—"

"Quiet," Sebastian said.

The single word silenced the entire room. Sebastian stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, looking out over the rain-slicked grid of Manhattan. His mother had wanted a legacy. She had wanted empires and towers.

"Vance," Sebastian said, not turning around. "You have exactly ten minutes to draft a full legal confession detailing every fabrication, every threat, and every bribe my mother authorized against Elena Sanchez. If you don't, I will hand this server to the Southern District federal prosecutors before the sun goes down, and you will spend your retirement in a federal penitentiary."
