Chapter 3: THE SHOCKING TRUTH IN THE LETTER

The cemetery disappeared around her.

There was only her son's voice living inside those words.

Mom,

I know you're going to be angry when you learn about Sarah and the baby.

But I hope someday you'll understand.

I didn't keep them from you because I was ashamed.

I kept them from you because I was afraid you'd choose business over family again.

The billionaire's knees weakened.

Sarah looked away.

She understood.

The words were painful.

Because they were true.

The letter continued.

You taught me how to succeed.

You taught me how to fight.

You taught me how to win.

But somewhere along the way, we forgot how to sit together as a family.

The tears wouldn't stop.

Every sentence carried years of things left unsaid.

Then she reached the final page.

And everything changed.

If anything ever happens to me, there is a trust account for my son.

The information is attached.

Please make sure nobody can touch it except him.

Nobody.

Not even the people inside the company.

The billionaire frowned.

Inside the company?

What did he mean?

Then she noticed a second envelope attached to the letter.

A much smaller one.

Marked CONFIDENTIAL.

Her heartbeat quickened.

Slowly she opened it.

Inside was a list of names.

Board members.

Executives.

Business partners.

And next to several names were handwritten notes.

Fraud.

Embezzlement.

Theft.

Illegal transfers.

The billionaire's face went pale.

This wasn't just family history.

This was evidence.

Evidence her son had been collecting before his death.

And suddenly a terrible possibility entered her mind.

What if the accident wasn't just an accident?

Sarah saw the color drain from her face.

"What is it?"

The billionaire couldn't answer immediately.

Because for the first time in five years...

She was no longer certain she knew how her son died.
