Nobody understood why the little girl was crying.

Not the guests.

Not the photographers.

Not the woman hosting the extravagant birthday gala.

And certainly not the people quietly filming as security escorted her toward the exit.

The ballroom of Royal Star Manor sparkled beneath enormous crystal chandeliers.

Music.

Flowers.

A cake taller than the child herself.

Everything so luxurious it felt untouchable.

And standing beside it—

was a little girl who clearly seemed out of place.

Simple pink dress.

Worn sneakers.

Hair slightly untidy.

Eyes red from holding back tears.

The security guards remained polite.

But firm.

One of them knelt beside her.

“Sweetheart, this event is private.”

The little girl looked back toward the towering cake.

Her voice barely rose above a whisper.

“Please…”

She swallowed hard.

“I only wanted to look at it.”

Guests began whispering.

Wrong place.

Wrong celebration.

Someone else's child.

Trying to get attention.

Nobody asked her name.

Then she quietly added—

“Today is my birthday too.”

The atmosphere shifted.

Not dramatically.

Just enough.

Smiles faded.

Phones lowered.

Even the hostess looked uncertain.

Nobody knew what to say.

Then—

the giant LED screen behind the stage flickered.

The birthday slideshow disappeared.

And something else appeared.
