Chapter 6 - A Sunlit Tomorrow

Six months later, the dark clouds that had hung over the Rossi mansion were completely gone.

The cold iron gates had been replaced with open stone arches surrounded by blooming white hydrangeas. The sound of children's laughter echoed across the manicured lawns.

I stood on the back terrace wearing a simple, elegant ivory dress, holding a cup of warm tea. Lily was running through the grass, chasing a golden retriever puppy while Leo walked beside her, his sharp suit coat tossed over his arm, his dark eyes filled with unadulterated joy.

He looked up, catching my eye, and walked up the terrace steps toward me.

Without a word, he wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me flush against his side, kissing the top of my forehead.

"What are you thinking about?" Leo asked softly against my hair.

"I was thinking about the day I broke down your door," I smiled, leaning my head against his broad shoulder. "I thought my life was over."

"It was," Leo murmured, turning my face toward his and pressing a gentle, deep kiss to my lips. "And our real life began."

I looked out over the sunlit gardens as Lily ran up the steps, jumping into both of our arms. The world had tried to teach me that softness was a flaw, that being invisible meant being weak. But as I held my family tight beneath the warm sun, I knew the truth.

Softness isn't weakness. It’s the force that breaks down iron doors—and builds a home that nothing can ever destroy.
