Chapter 8 - The Legacy Rebuilt

In the months that followed the fall of the Moretti family, the city witnessed a profound shift in the Torino organization.

Vincent began systematically dismantling the syndicate's illicit operations, transferring billions in capital into legitimate maritime shipping, logistics, commercial real estate, and charitable foundations. The men who had served him with weapons were given legitimate employment in supply chains and corporate security.

Carmen was officially appointed as the head administrator of the Torino Foundation, an organization dedicated to funding pediatric healthcare and providing scholarships for underprivileged children across the state.

Isabella thrived. She grew taller, healthier, and quickly became top of her class at St. Jude’s Academy. Every Friday afternoon, Vincent’s private car would bring her back to the estate, where she would immediately run into the library to show Vincent her latest academic awards and art projects.

The stone mansion on the hillside, once known as a fortress of silence and fear, became filled with laughter, music, and light.

On Isabella’s tenth birthday, Vincent hosted a celebration on the grand lawn, inviting dozens of her classmates and their families. Watching the children run across the grass, Marco approached Vincent, holding two glasses of sparkling cider.

"You changed the whole city, Boss," Marco said with genuine respect. "People don't speak your name with fear anymore. They speak it with honor."

Vincent took a glass, looking out over the terrace. "Fear is easy, Marco. It takes no talent to make men afraid. Building something that protects the vulnerable—that is the only power that lasts."
