CHAPTER 1 The hallway outside the bridal suite was quiet and elegant.
HIS MOTHER SAW THE BRIDE WITH HIS FATHER… THEN THE GROOM WHISPERED, “NOT YET”
The hallway outside the bridal suite was quiet and elegant.
Soft ivory walls.
Golden light.
A wedding waiting behind closed doors.
The groom’s mother walked toward the suite in a midnight navy gown.
She wanted one final private moment before the ceremony.
Then she noticed the door was slightly open.
She stopped.
Slowly, she looked inside.
The bride stood near the vanity in her white lace dress.
But she was not alone.
Her arms were wrapped around the groom’s father.
The mother covered her mouth, horrified.
“Oh my God…” she whispered.
She pulled the door shut and stumbled back against the wall.
Then she saw her son at the end of the hallway.
He stood perfectly still in a charcoal suit.
A white rose was pinned to his lapel.
She rushed to him and grabbed his arm.
“Your father is in there with your bride,” she whispered. “You have to stop this.”
The groom did not flinch.
He did not look surprised.
He only looked at her calmly.
“I know,” he said.
His mother froze.
“What do you mean, you know?”
She begged him to cancel the wedding before he humiliated himself.
But he leaned closer with a cold smile.
“Not yet.”
Then he straightened his tie and walked toward the ceremony.
And his mother finally understood.
This wedding was not his downfall.
It was the trap he had built for everyone who betrayed him.
👉 She thought she had uncovered the betrayal in time… but the groom already knew, and the wedding was about to become his revenge.
