CHAPTER 3: THE EMPIRE THAT COLLAPSED IN ONE DAY

The garage was silent.

Victor tried to recover.

Tried to regain control.

“Mr. Mercer, surely we can discuss this like businessmen.”

Jonathan stared at him.

Cold.

Unmoved.

“Businessmen?”

His voice was dangerously calm.

“You assaulted my son.”

Victor glanced around nervously.

“Things got emotional.”

“No.”

Jonathan shook his head.

“You revealed who you really are.”

Clara stepped beside Daniel.

For the first time, she took his hand openly.

In front of everyone.

Her father watched helplessly.

Because he could no longer pretend Daniel wasn't worthy.

Jonathan reached into his coat and removed a folder.

The same kind Victor had handed to countless competitors before destroying them.

Only this time, the folder wasn't aimed at someone else.

It was aimed at him.

“I spent this morning reviewing several companies.”

Jonathan opened the file.

“One of them belongs to you.”

Victor's face turned pale.

The mechanics looked on in disbelief.

Jonathan continued.

“You've been negotiating a major financing agreement for six months.”

Victor stopped breathing.

“How do you know that?”

Jonathan smiled.

“Because my firm owns the bank.”

The room exploded into whispers.

Victor staggered backward.

“No.”

“Yes.”

Jonathan closed the folder.

“The deal is canceled.”

Years of planning vanished in a single sentence.

Millions disappeared.

Future projects evaporated.

Victor felt the ground beneath him crumble.

And yet Jonathan wasn't finished.

He looked toward Daniel.

Then toward Clara.

“My son doesn't need my money.”

His voice softened.

“He earned my respect long before today.”

Daniel lowered his head.

Emotion filling his eyes.

Jonathan placed a hand on his shoulder.

“The fact that he chose honesty over privilege is why he's already richer than most men.”

Clara smiled through tears.

Victor stood alone.

Surrounded by luxury cars.

Surrounded by wealth.

Surrounded by everything he thought mattered.

Yet somehow he had lost everything important.

Because he judged a man by grease on his hands instead of strength in his character.

And as Jonathan, Daniel, and Clara walked toward the Rolls-Royce together, everyone in the garage understood the lesson Victor learned too late.

The most valuable people often arrive dressed like ordinary workers.

And sometimes the person you call worthless...

is the one who holds the power to change your entire future.
