Part 2: What Crawled Out

velyn stepped forward before anyone could stop her.

“Noah,” she said gently, kneeling beside the bed, “I need you to stay very still.”

The boy nodded through his tears.

Marissa folded her arms.

“This is ridiculous.”

But for the first time since entering the room, Daniel wasn't looking at his wife.

He was looking at his son.

And Noah looked terrified.

Not dramatic.

Not spoiled.

Terrified.

Evelyn switched on the cutter.

The room filled with a low mechanical hum.

“Daniel,” Marissa said sharply, “if she damages that cast, the hospital could sue us.”

Evelyn began cutting.

The blade sliced through the plaster.

Noah immediately grabbed the sheets.

“It’s moving,” he whispered.

Daniel felt a chill crawl down his spine.

A few more inches.

The cast cracked.

Then something inside shifted.

Everyone heard it.

A scratching sound.

The nurse standing nearby froze.

“What was that?”

Marissa’s face lost color.

Evelyn looked up.

“Open the emergency tray.”

The nurse obeyed instantly.

The cast split apart.

For one second, nothing happened.

Then a dark shape dropped onto the hospital blanket.

The creature unfolded six hairy legs.

A spider.

A large one.

Not deadly.

But very much alive.

The room erupted.

The nurse screamed.

Daniel staggered backward.

Noah cried out.

The spider scurried across the bed before being trapped under a metal tray.

Silence followed.

Heavy.

Terrible silence.

Then Evelyn carefully peeled away the remaining plaster.

Underneath, Noah’s arm was covered with dozens of tiny bite marks and infected scratches.

The doctors rushed forward.

“Oh my God.”

Another physician arrived.

Then another.

Within minutes Noah was surrounded.

Marissa slowly backed toward the door.

“That's impossible,” she whispered.

Evelyn looked directly at her.

“No.”

Her voice was cold.

“It isn't.”

The doctors treated Noah’s arm immediately.

The infection was serious.

Had the cast remained closed for another week, the damage could have become permanent.

Daniel sat frozen.

His son had been telling the truth.

The entire time.

Then one of the doctors asked the question nobody wanted to answer.

“How did a live spider get sealed inside a cast?”

Nobody spoke.

Except Noah.

His voice shook.

“She put it there.”

Every eye turned toward Marissa.

“Noah,” she snapped, “stop lying.”

But the boy wasn't looking at her anymore.

He was looking at his father.

And for the first time in years, Daniel believed him.

The security cameras from the hospital revealed nothing.

But Evelyn had a suspicion.

A dangerous one.

And before the night ended, she requested footage from the Vale mansion.

Especially the cameras near the basement.

The place where Noah had supposedly fallen.

What they discovered there would destroy everything.
