Chapter 3 - The Shadow Council

I stood up, pulling my phone from my pocket and dialing my personal enforcers.
"Mateo, lock down the building," I ordered, my voice dropping into the terrifying, icy tone that had made me the undisputed head of the Vale empire. "Bring my uncle Victor and senior council member Harrison to the basement boardroom immediately. Tell them it's an emergency asset allocation meeting."
"Understood, Boss," Mateo replied.
I turned back to Clara and Emma. "You two are safe now. My men will take you to my private estate in the mountains. No one steps foot on that property without my personal clearance."
Emma reached out and touched the cuff of my shirt, tugging it gently. "Are you going to fix the wolf, Uncle Sebastian?"

I looked down at the innocent child carrying my brother's blood, my chest swelling with a fierce, protective instinct I hadn't felt in over a decade. I gently placed my hand over her small shoulder.
"Yes, Emma," I said softly. "I'm going to make sure the wolves are together again."
