Onion, Clove & Rosemary Hair Oil

Ingredients:

  • 1 Medium Onion (Red onion is preferred for higher sulfur content)

  • 2–3 Sprigs of Fresh Rosemary (or 2 tablespoons of dried rosemary)

  • 1 Tablespoon of Whole Cloves

  • 1 Cup of Carrier Oil (Coconut oil, Olive oil, or Sesame oil)

Choose high-quality, preferably cold-pressed carrier oils for maximum nourishment.


Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Preparation:

Peel the onion and chop it into small pieces, or grate it finely to help release its beneficial compounds.

2. Infusion:

In a heavy-bottomed pan, pour in the carrier oil and add the chopped onion. Turn the heat to low. Gentle heat is essential to avoid burning the ingredients.

3. Add Herbs:

Add the rosemary sprigs and whole cloves to the oil mixture. Stir lightly to ensure even distribution.

4. Simmer:

Allow the mixture to simmer on very low heat for 15–20 minutes. The onions should become slightly brown and translucent—not dark or crispy. Burning the onion can reduce the oil’s effectiveness.

5. Cooling:

Turn off the heat and let the oil cool completely. This step allows further infusion as the mixture rests.

6. Straining:

Using a cheesecloth or fine strainer, carefully strain the oil into a clean, dry glass jar. Store in a cool, dark place.


How to Use the Oil for Best Results:

• Scalp Massage:

Apply the oil directly onto your scalp using your fingertips or a dropper. Massage gently in circular motions for 5–10 minutes. This not only helps distribute the oil evenly but also stimulates blood flow.
