Dolly Parton Shares Heartwarming Holiday Photo With Look-Alike Sister

Dolly Parton is welcoming the holiday season the way she always has, surrounded by family, food, and love. On Wednesday, December 17, the country legend, 79, shared a cozy Instagram moment with her lookalike sister, Rachel Parton George, 66.

The sisters were pictured enjoying a sweet treat in front of a candlelit fireplace and a grand piano adorned with oversized presents, creating a warm, intimate holiday scene rooted in family tradition.

A Cozy Holiday Scene Filled With Family Details

In the photo, Rachel sat on the piano bench wearing an off-the-shoulder red dress with strappy red heels. Parton, the former “The Voice” guest mentor, stood beside her in a shiny pink dress and high heels, offering a cracker spread shaped like a Christmas tree.

Festive details filled the room. A garland decorated with red bows and ornaments lined one corner, while a fully trimmed Christmas tree stood nearby. The setting reflected a classic holiday gathering centered on comfort and tradition.

A Peek at the Sisters’ Holiday Table

Parton also gave fans a peek at what the sisters may be enjoying this holiday season, sharing photos of steak, a hearty casserole, and dessert.

“The holidays are all about coming together in the kitchen, sharing a meal, and making memories with the people you love, just like my sister Rachel and I always have. 🎄 Plan your festive feast with our cookbook #GoodLookinCookin!,” the caption read.

Inside Their Family Cookbook & Shared Joy

The sisters released their cookbook, “Good Lookin’ Cookin’: A Year of Meals – A Lifetime of Family, Friends, and Food,” in September 2024. The collection features 80 family recipes, from barbecue spare ribs and macaroni and cheese to strawberry shortcake.

“I love good cooking, but not as much as I love my sister Rachel. So, getting to combine the two was a joy beyond belief for me,” Parton said in a statement at the time.

“I do believe you’re going to love all these great recipes, and I think you’re gonna have as much fun reading these stories and things that we put together for you as we did,” she continued. “I can’t wait to get this book in your hands, and for you to get this food on your table.”

How Family Shaped Dolly Parton’s Love of Cooking

Parton, who has 11 siblings, some of whom have passed away, has previously shared how cooking became part of her life at an early age.

She told People in September 2024 that she learned to cook “out of necessity.”

“We’d have to climb up on the chairs to peel potatoes, turnips or whatever,” she said. “We were really helping out when Mama was not well, or in bed with a kid or having a new baby or whatever… so my first [lesson] came out of just really being a necessity of us helping mom as the older girls.”

For Parton, the holidays continue to reflect that same spirit of family, togetherness, and memories made around the table.
